Tom Cockett
Tom Cockett was born in London in 1986. A former Head
Chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral, Tom performed extensively as a treble
soloist including broadcasts on BBC television and Radio 3, Japanese Television
and Classic FM. In 2007 Tom graduated in music from Royal Hollway, University
of London where he held a Choral Scholarship and studied with Christian Immler.
Tom currently studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he is under
the tutorship of Ryland Davies and Audrey Hyland. Tom is extremely grateful
for the support he has received from The Tom Acton Trust, The Kathleen Trust,
The St Marylebone Educational Trust and Mr and Mrs Steve and Cathy Davies.
Tom is actively seeking further support for his studies.
As a concert artist Tom performs a wide variety of works. Recent highlights
include Bach St. Matthew Passion (Arias and Evangelist) and St.
John Passion (Arias and Evangelist), Britten Serenade, Handel Messiah and Saul and
Mozart Requiem. Future engagements include Vaughan Williams On
Wenlock Edge, Bach Christmas Oratorio, Rossini Petite Messe
Solennelle and Dyson Canterbury Pilgrims. Recital performances
include Britten’s Abraham and Isaac, Tippett’s The
Heart’s Assurance, Schumann’s Liederkreis Op. 39, Dichterliebe and
Barber’s Op.10 and Op. 45.
On stage Tom has performed Grimoaldo (Handel Rodelinda,) Ferrando
(Mozart Cosi Fan Tutte),Paris the Boy (Tippett King Priam)
and Nemorino (Donizetti L’Elisir D’amore). Future
performances include a selection of scenes at the Royal Academy of Music in
November 2009 and Snout (cover) in Britten’s A Midsummer Nights
