In its first concert of this season, Bracknell Choral Society is experimenting with an early start time in a move to help its audience to return to distant locations afterwards in time to get to work on Monday morning. Its concert on Sunday 27th November at Newbold College Church will start at 6pm.
This move is the result of a suggestion from the BachChor of Bracknell’s twin town of Leverkusen and the results will be monitored closely to see if it helps those who come from further afield than locally to attend a Sunday Bracknell concert.
The programme contains some of the most popular works in the classical repertoire: Vivaldi: Gloria Purcell: Funeral Music for Queen Mary and Welcome to all the Pleasures Buxtehude: Magnificat Bracknell Choral Society and the Senesino Players will be conducted by Greg Hallam, in his first orchestral concert for the Choral Society since taking over the baton from Barnaby Smith.
Sopranos Pippa Goss and Susannah Vango will be joined by alto Catherine Backhouse, tenor Julian Forbes and bass Simon Whiteley. Both Catherine and Simon are making a welcome return to BCS.
